Kathy Lee Michelbach Wyrick

Kathy Lee Wyrick, of Crimora, passed away peacefully on Sunday May 27, 2012 at her home overlooking her beautiful blue ridge mountains with her family and faithful companion Boo by her side.

She was born August 30, 1950 in Alexandria, VA. She was the daughter of the late James and Esther Michelbach.

She was a homemaker, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. She loved the outdoors and photography…her ability to connect with children and animals was like no other. Nothing made her smile more than her cherished grandchildren.

She has inspired so many with her photographs, her determination, her wit, and her ability to live life to the fullest, no matter what…”Life is what you make it”.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Gail Smith, her father-in-law, Clarence Wyrick, and her foster parents, Louis and Cinderella Daugherty.

She is survived by her husband Conrad Wyrick, and their children Kelly and Joey Truxell, Scott and Cathy Balsley, Christy and Tim Mears, Rachael and Marshall Coleman, and Laura Wyrick, her grandchildren Scott Balsley, Annabelle Truxell, Kaylee Mears, Stephanie Balsley and her fiancé Tony Dimeo, Taylor Hughes, Jacob Wyrick, Maggie Coleman, and Noah and Maya Wyrick, a sister Bonnie Derr and her husband Jerry, and her mother-in-law Ellen Wyrick. She also leaves behind many other special friends and family members that have been an important part of her life.

Thank you to Hospice of Augusta, and to the nurses and caregivers who helped during her illness.

A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday June 2nd at 11am at McDow Funeral Home in Waynesboro. The family will receive friends after the service at McDow.

Memorial donations can be made in her honor to Hospice of Augusta, PO Box 215 Fishersville, VA 22939, or to Camp Light c/o Scott Balsley, 528 Rock Mountain Lane, Crimora VA 24431.
