Alice M. Thornton, 81, of Lyndhurst, passed away Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at Augusta Health, Fishersville.

She was born May 28, 1931 in West Virginia, the only child of the late Reese Douglas and Ollie Mae Buchanan McComb.

A graduate of Waynesboro High School, she had retired as a merchandiser for Montgomery Ward.

Surviving are her daughter, Deborah Thornton of Lyndhurst, and sister-in-law, Nancy Armentrout of Florida.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 13, 2012, at Augusta Memorial Park by Rev. April Cranford.
